The Shrine for the Unborn at Mount Saint Alphonsus, known as The Shrine of the Holy Innocents, began in September 2008. Since then, women and men have come forward and have shared their stories and joined in making this sacred ground even more so, as it has become a place where we can all remember our babies in heaven.
The Shrine has begun its next phase by beginning to form its Board of Directors. We are pleased to welcome His Excellency, Bishop Dominick Lagonegro, Emily and Phil Sinagra, Jean and Len Miller, Kathy and Frank Ambrose, Breda McMahon, Bob Cranston and Attilio Contini to our Board of Directors.
This shrine helps us remember our babies forever. One mother recently purchased a memorial brick in honor of her baby. She shed tears of joy as she remember the baby that she lost more than 50 years ago. She felt comforted, knowing that her baby has been given the dignity that she has wanted to give for decades.
